While I am not the biggest Hearthstone player, I do pay attention to news surrounding the popular card game. The most recent announcement certainly perked up my ears; the newest expansion, called Knights of the Frozen Throne, hearkens back to my old Warcraft days. That’s right, the Lich King is back.
All nerdiness and nostalgia aside, there’s quite a bit being added in Knights of the Frozen Throne. Players will be traveling to Northrend to become Death Knights, undead warriors with enhanced armor and powers. 135 new cards will be added, including 5 Hero ones. Particularly ambitious players may challenge the Lich King himself.
The expansion is coming soon to Hearthstone, with Knights of the Frozen Throne card packs available soon in the arena or to purchase with gold/real money for the same price as other card packs. Eager players can purchase a special 50-card pack bundle for $50, which will feature a Lich King-theme back. That’s pretty crazy, but Warcraft/Hearthstone fans can be pretty diehard.
