Nothing Phone (1) Design Officially Confirmed, The Back Is Transparent

Nothing has finally confirmed and shown the Nothing Phone (1) design, after a number of teasers. The company finally showed us the entire back side of the device via an Instagram post.

The Nothing Phone (1) design has been officially confirmed

This is the best look at the device thus far. Its backplate is see-through, as expected, so you can see part of the phone’s frame. Nothing’s logo is etched into that frame in the bottom-left corner, but it’s not exactly ruining the overall look.

The screws are visible on the back, and some other details. This surely is an interesting approach, and something we expected, as the Nothing ear (1) earphones come in a see-through case. That’s the design language that Nothing seems to be going for.

Now, we’ve already seen phones with see-through glass on the back, from Xiaomi, though the company used stickers to make that happen, and show us the internals. That was also quite interesting, but no stickers are in use here.

Truth be said you can’t exactly see the SoC, and other components, but the design does seem unique, that’s for sure. This is the white-colored model, but Nothing will likely release more than one color option.

Two cameras will be included on the back, while the phone will support 45W charging

The phone, as you can see, has two cameras on the back, and they’re vertically-aligned in the top-left corner. Those will likely be wide and ultrawide units, by the way. The power / lock button sits on the right-hand side of the device, while the volume up and down buttons are on the left, and they’re separated.

You’ll also notice white lines on the back of the device, which the company has been using for a while to tease the device. Those lines may actually act as an LED notification light of sorts, but we’ll see.

The Nothing Phone (1) will launch on July 12, and it will include uniform bezels. You’ll likely get a centered display camera hole on the front, and a flat display. Speaking of which, a 6.55-inch fullHD+ AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate is expected.

The phone will likely be fueled by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, and supports 45W fast wired charging. Wireless charging has been confirmed by the company, while Android 12 will almost certainly come pre-installed, with the Nothing Launcher.
