Project Worker – Part Time – Temporary position for up to 12 months

We have a great opportunity for a Project Worker with passion and drive to support our residents with their daily living skills. Set in a quiet, residential area of Bridgwater, Drawbridge House has eight fully-furnished bedrooms in a shared house. We provide support for adults aged 18 to 65, with a range of learning disabilities, encouraging them to live as independently as possible. The role of Project Worker will include:
- Providing one-to-one support to clients, helping them to develop their daily living skills and strive for greater independence
- Promoting clients to make choices
- Helping clients with; budgeting, menu planning, writing shopping lists, cooking, general house work and medication administration
- Supporting clients with benefit application and management
- Producing care and support plans and risk management plans with clients
- Liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of clients
- Managing any safeguarding or serious incidents
- General house keeping
- You may be required to work “sleep in” shifts
Skills and experiences:
- Some experience working with clients with learning disabilities and/or complex needs
- Experience of motivating and encouraging individuals to reach their goals
- Positive approach to challenging behaviour
- The ability to work on your own initiative
- An NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent, is desirable
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
